Botanical Splendor – Anti-Aging Cream

Botanical Splendor Anti-Aging Cream has a wide array of benefits for many skin types. With a base of Mineral, Rose, and Chamomile Waters you have anti-inflammatory, soothing, hydrating, and nourishing properties.

Our skin needs hydration, but it also needs to be fed nutrients. Giving it the minerals and compounds of the waters added with the vitamins and nutrients found in the lipids; the seed oils used, you have an excellent combination for skin repair and rejuvenation.

We have used Pomegranate in two different ways in this cream with using the oil from the seed and also the extract of the fruit. Pomegranate contains powerful antioxidants, namely Anthocyanins, ellagic acid, and punicalagin working together to prevent and treat the signs of aging by fighting off free radicals that age the skin. These antioxidants also increase circulation to renew and repair cells.

Collagen is a structural protein essential for keeping the skin taut, plump and youthful and important components of Pomegranate aid in collagen production.

Another reason pomegranate is so good for keeping the skin youthful is because it penetrates deeply into the dermis to provide deep hydration. Pomegranate is rich in an omega 5 fatty acid, which helps to lock in this hydration and keep dirt and bacteria out.
Pomegranate is a powerful skin regenerator and may in fact reverse damage that has already occurred in the skin.

There are important cells called keratinocytes found in the outer layer of the skin (The epidermis). Topically applied pomegranate extract helps to stimulate these cells. By regenerating these cells skin damage can be reversed and a more youthful complexion will be revealed.

We also have the powerful Red Raspberry Seed Oil. Some benefits of this ingredient are below:
* Absorbs UVB and UVC and offers limited protection from UVA so “may act as a broad spectrum UV protectant” (Oomah et al., 2000) although further studies are needed to test this*.
• Anti-inflammatory due to high content of alpha linolenic acid (the highest in any fruit seed oil) and phytosterols, therefore helpful for eczema and psoriasis.
* Anti-aging benefits due to content of ellegic acid (an antioxidant). This study shows that elegiac acid “reduced the destruction of collagen and inflammatory response, both major causes of wrinkles.” It also protects against ultra violet damage.
* Very high in Vitamin E – an antioxidant. Antioxidants in skin care are important to prevent oxidative damage, which can lead to premature skin aging and skin cancer.
* Very high levels of phytosterols that can help reduce trans-epidermal water loss, thereby helping to keep skin moisturized.
* Phytosterols also help to repair skin damaged by environmental factors including sun damage.

Another extract to highlight would be our Bamboo Extract. In a 30-day efficacy study of bamboo extracts on skin, moisture levels were improved by 10% compared to aloe vera and 30% better than the un­treated control.
